Garbage Collection Every Other Week

Garbage is collected every other week. Residents will use their own cans and bags for trash. Large bulky items will also be taken. Construction material must be contained in cans or bags. Loose construction material will not be accepted.

Please place the following in the garbage:

  • Mixed trash
  • Plastic wrap & bags
  • Broken toys
  • Ceramics
  • Light bulbs
  • Bagged garbage & food waste
  • Styrofoam & other loose trash

Do not put the following items in the garbage:

  • Yard waste
  • Recyclables
  • Household hazardous waste
  • Cardboard boxes

Recycle Collection Every Other Week

Mix it all together:

Johns Disposal Service provides single stream recycling. All recyclable material can be mixed together. Johns Disposal’s recycle process system sorts all recyclable material.


  • Clean aluminum foil
  • Tin cans, steel cans, aerosol cans, dried paint cans
  • Glass bottles & jars
  • #1-7 plastic bottles or jugs with a twist top
  • Cartons (juice boxes, milk cartons)

Mixed Paper:

  • Newspaper, magazines, books, mail, school/office paper
  • Brown corrugated cardboard
  • Gray chipboard (cereal & shoe boxes)
  • Brown paper bags

Shredded Paper:

  • Please put in a clear plastic bag

Please do not place the following with your Recycling:

  • Plastic bags & styrofoam of any kind
  • Toys
  • Yard waste
  • Other plastic
  • Trash
  • Household hazardous waste
  • Construction materials
  • Electronics

Collection Day:

The Town of Waterloo’s collection day is Thursday.
