Services beginning January 3, 2012
A new automated cart program has been selected by the Village. Each resident will receive 2 carts: brown for garbage and green for recycling. Please refer to the instructions attached to the green recycling cart. The instructions include a collection schedule, recycling instructions and proper placement of the carts.
New Garbage & Recycling Carts:
The garbage (brown cart) is emptied on a weekly basis. The recycling (green cart) is emptied every other week.
Cart Sizes:
Each resident will be delivered two 96-gallon carts. The brown cart is for garbage, the green cart is for recycling. Johns Disposal has smaller size carts available. We request that residents try the large carts for 30 days before switching to smaller size carts. We understand that the carts are a big change from small trash cans; we find that after the 30 day trial, residents prefer the 96-gallon cart. Smaller carts will be provided immediately for elderly and disabled residents only; all other residents must wait 30 days. Please call our office to request an additional cart or a smaller cart.

Large Item Collection:
A monthly bulk items collection will take place on the first Monday of each month. This service is for items that are too large for the trash or recycle cart. Large items, appliances, extra cans or bags can be taken with the bulk collections.
