Services beginning January 3, 2012
Johns Disposal Service will begin trash & recycle collection on January 3, 2012. A new automated cart program has been selected by the City. Each resident will receive a cart for garbage and a second for recycling. Please refer to the instructions attached to the green recycling cart. The instructions include a collection schedule, recycling instructions and proper placement of the carts. The collection schedule will remain the same as current.

New Garbage & Recycling Carts:
The garbage (brown cart) is emptied on a weekly basis. The recycling (green cart) is emptied every other week.
Cart Sizes:
Each resident will be delivered two 96-gallon carts. The brown cart is for garbage, the green cart is for recycling. Johns Disposal has smaller size carts available. We request that residents try the large carts for 30 days before switching to smaller size carts. We understand that the carts are a big change from small trash cans; we find that after the 30 day trial, residents prefer the 96-gallon cart. Smaller carts will be provided immediately for elderly and disabled residents only. Please call our office to request an additional cart or a smaller cart.
Large Item Collection:
Each resident will be provided 2 special pickups per year. Special pickups are required for large items that do not fit inside the cart. There is no charge for the first 2 pickups. Residents must call our office to schedule a pickup. Large items include furniture, bedding, extra cans of trash and appliances. Please call our office at 262-473-4700 to schedule a special pickup.
Meet Your Drivers:
Matt J and Nick W will collect both trash & recycle in the City of Greenfield.
