Garbage Collection Every Monday

Garbage is collected every week.  Residents will use their own cans and bags for trash.  Large bulky items will also be taken on the weekly collection.  Construction material must be contained in cans or bags.  Loose construction material will not be accepted.

Please place the following in the garbage:

  • Mixed trash
  • Plastic wrap & bags
  • Broken toys
  • Ceramics
  • Light bulbs
  • Bagged garbage & food waste
  • Styrofoam & other loose trash

Do not put the following items in the garbage:

  • Yard waste
  • Recyclables
  • Household hazardous waste
  • Cardboard boxes

Recycle collection Every Monday

Mix it all together (place in yellow recycle bin):

Johns Disposal Service provides single stream recycling.  All recyclable material can be mixed together.  Johns Disposal’s recycle process system sorts all recyclable material.

Mixed Containers:

  • Clean aluminum cans & foil
  • Tin cans, steel cans, aerosol cans, empty paint cans
  • Glass bottles & jars
  • #1-7 plastic bottles or jugs with a twist top
  • Cartons (juice boxes, milk cartons, soup cartons)

Mixed Paper:

  • Newspaper, magazines, books, mail, school/office paper
  • Brown corrugated cardboard
  • Gray chipboard (cereal & shoe boxes)
  • Brown paper bags

Shredded Paper:

  • Please put in a clear plastic bag & place in or next to bin

Please do not place the following with your Recycling:

  • Styrofoam of any kind
  • Yard waste
  • Trash
  • Household hazardous waste
  • Construction materials
  • Clothing

Acceptable Bulk Items Collected Every Monday

  • Furniture, Appliances, Air Conditioners, Large metal items
  • Carpeting (no wider than 4ft and rolled)
  • Extra garbage bags or garbage in personal cans
  • Cardboard (flattened & empty)
  • Tires (2 per home per month – 8 per year)
  • Drain oil & antifreeze (sealed in 1-5 gallon containers)
  • Extra paper & other recyclables should be in clear plastic bags
  • Humidifiers/De-humidifiers, water softeners

Unacceptable Bulk Items

  • Hazardous materials & liquid paint
  • Electronics
  • Loose bulk construction materials

All bulk items should be placed within 2 feet of curbside.

Important Information:

  • Garbage cans must be no larger than 40 gallons
  • Please place garbage/recycling at the curb the night before service or by 7 AM on Monday
  • The recycle bin is for “single stream” recycling.  All recycle items are to be placed loose in the recycle bin, no sorting or bagging is necessary
  • Bulk item pick up will be weekly on your day of service
  • Yard waste will be on Monday’s from April thru November.  Stickers are required and can be purchased from Village Board Members.  Compostable bags are required.  Branches must be bundled; with a sticker.

Johns Disposal is a registered collector of electronics for the state of Wisconsin.  We would be happy to pick up your electronics for a fee.  Call our office for arrangements.

  • Desktop computers, laptops
  • Printers, fax machines, scanners, copiers
  • Video display devices, monitors, televisions
  • Keyboards, mice, hard drives, flash drives, external modems & other computer devices
  • Fax machines, DVD, VCR, DVR & Video
